These quill pens have been cured and cut for regular handwriting and are great for school classroom study, historical reenactment, and those wanting to write or draw with a quill. The staff and barbs have been trimmed, as was standard practice when quills were widely used. This makes for a functional writing tool (but is less showy than the full-feather quill pen props that appear in movies.) For period-appropriate gall ink, try McCaffery's Black or Old World. Uncut quills and quills cut for broad-edged calligraphy (Italic, Uncial, Blackletter, etc.) are also available.
