Join Barbara for a three-day journey into the world of lettering, where we will explore the art of drawing letters with both structure and expression. Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced calligrapher looking to refine your skills, this course will guide you through the fundamentals and help you develop your own creative style.

Lesson 1

Block Letters – We will start by learning the basics of constructing clear, balanced block letters. This is the foundation of lettering, helping you understand proportion, spacing, and structure.

Lesson 2

Cursive Letters – Moving into cursive, we will explore fluid, connected strokes that bring rhythm and elegance to your writing. You’ll learn how to create graceful, flowing letterforms while maintaining control and consistency.

Lesson 3

Modify Letters & Create a Final Piece – This is where the magic happens! We will experiment with modifying and personalizing letterforms, exploring different styles, and arranging them into compositions. By the end of the lesson, you will create a final lettering piece that reflects your unique vision.

This workshop is not about perfection—it’s about practice, exploration, and developing your eye for beautiful letterforms. You don’t need previous experience, just curiosity and a willingness to learn. Let’s draw letters together and make something beautiful.
