Description

The initials of the late Romanesque period have very free forms, much more than in more recent periods. Their color palette is also very rich. Finally, it is at this time that the first filigrees with very vegetal forms appear.

During this course, we will study the historical forms of the versals and their decoration based on more than 50 different manuscripts and we will produce our own modern initials by playing with the colors and shapes.
