Description

Liberate your italic from the broad edged pen and see where it takes you! Learn how to master a simple and highly versatile technique to create dynamic letters with mono-line writing tools. You will discover that it is not only practical and speedy but produces a range of impressive results.

Lesson 1

Italic skeleton minuscule will be our starting point. Gain confidence writing these forms before trying some fun exercises to prime your muscle memory. Learn the double stoke technique with a pencil and learn, step by step, how to apply this method to each letter. Finally, find your flow with coloured pencils and fine tipped mono-line pens as you write words and phrases.

Lesson 2

Plenty of guidance will be given to help you take your double stroke skills to the next level as you create a range of exciting variations. Try out alternative writing tools and enjoy experimenting with form and colour. We will then turn our attention to applying the technique to capital letters before starting to develop a design using your favourite variations.
