Description

Take your calligraphy skills to the next level with Italic! As the second course in the instructor's beginner calligraphy sequence, this workshop introduces the elegant, versatile italic script—one of the most beloved and widely used calligraphy styles. In this course, you will: -- Learn the standard italic letterforms (including both uppercase and lowercase), with optional variations, and study how to write them with consistency -- Continue refining spacing, stroke control, and composition -- Complete finished calligraphy projects to build confidence and develop your skills -- Gain a deeper understanding of calligraphy tools and materials -- Develop an essential pen technique that will *dramatically* improve your lettering across multiple calligraphy styles -- Draw and paint your own personalized decorated letter! If you have a basic familiarity with broad-edge pen calligraphy, this 8-lesson course, which is suitable for both beginners and improvers in the italic style, will give you the tools to advance your skills and create beautiful, flowing lettering! PREREQUISITE: At least 2 months' study of *any* broad-edge calligraphy style.
