Description

Minuscules are essential to the calligrapher’s tool box. The Carolingian minuscule is a historical starting point, and Edward Johnston’s Foundational Hand is derived from it. However, different variations on minuscules are possible, and through choosing different arch forms, branching, serifs, compression, weight and other variables, we will explore ways of modernising them. Online workshop in Zoom. Lectures, demos, Q&A sessions, correction of homework between sessions.
