Description

If you are inspired by the magic of carousel horses, scroll designs, ornamental foliates and flowing ribbons, this holiday flourishing class is for you. We will gather inspiration from historic fairground artistry as we compose an ornate design that is festooned with the magic of the season. We will learn how to combine offhand flourishes with hand drawn decorative elements. Our carousel horse can be decorated with true offhand flourishes, small infill designs and pen drawn foliates. Optional Gilded accents can be added with 23K gold leaf. Colour will be added with the ease of watercolour pencils and metallic watercolour. Your final design will be suitable for framing and can serve as a beautiful seasonal card. This joyful skill building class is open to all skill levels. Let’s go to the Festive Faire together!

Supply List:

- Your favourite practice paper for pointed pen, pencil, ruler, eraser

- Your favourite pointed pen, straight holder

- Waterproof ink such as McCaffery Black, McCaffery Brown or Ziller Buffalo Brown

- 1-2 sheets of 140lb Hot Press Watercolor Paper or Strathmore 300 series Bristol Smooth Paper, 9” x 12”

- Watercolor Pencils, Water dish, small pointed round watercolor brush. Suggested Colours: Sepia and lighter brown, 2 shades of Grey, 2 shades of Pink, 2 shades of Blue, 2 shades of Green, Bright Red

Optional: Gilding Supplies such as 23k gold leaf (1 sheet), Miniatum Ink Gilding Size with Size 0 Extra 0 Extra Firm Taper Point Clay shaper tool, or Gold Metallic Watercolour

Optional: Embellishment Supplies such as Clear Stardust Gelly roll pen, green pastel, metallic watercolours, watercolours
