Take your offhand flourishing skills to a new level with character flourishing. In this workshop, student will learn how to design Sweet Characters in flourished spring settings. Student will use delicate infill strokes to flourish their characters along with pointed pen drawing and subtle colour techniques.
Students will also learn how to add flourishes to key areas, how to define shapes with shading and delicate colours. This workshop will advance student's skills in learning how to refine flourished strokes as well as build confidence with drawing simple animal characters.
Colour can be enhanced with watercolour or watercolour pencils, or student can choose to complete their design with coloured pencils.
Welcome the Spring season with these charming little character designs. Finished designs will make gorgeous cards or can enhance their calligraphic artwork. There is so much delight waiting to be explored in this workshop.

Supply List:

Pencil, kneaded eraser, tracing paper or light pad (PL38, E09, P43, S1013)

Medium flexible pointed pen such as Hunt 22 or Gillott 404 (N93, N74)

Practice paper such as Maruman Imagination (P64)

Waterproof ink such as McCaffery Black suggested, walnut ink can be used for practice (I154, I145)

Art paper such as light colour cardstock, Strathmore drawing paper, hot press watercolour paper. You will need a few sheets to practice your flourishes (P100, P134)

Colour supplies : Coloured pencils and or watercolour pencils. You will need Burnt Sienna, Gray, Payne’s Grey, White and any floral colours you would like to use (PL76, PL28, PL58)

Bleedproof white and mixing brush for highlights (I38, BR43)

Small pointed round watercolour brush if you are using watercolour pencils (BR26, BR104)

Optional colour supplies : Green and blue chalk pastel with applicator brush (PL2030, S978), Sakura gelly roll clear stardust pen (M96-2), small flat backed crystals, metallic watercolours (S1000), and gilding supplies if you want to add a shimmer of gold leaf
