ALL SKILL LEVELS | ENGROSSER'S

Learn to write Engrosser’s Text like a pro! Engrossing hands, or Engrosser’s Texts, are uniquely American hands, derived from the influences of French and German Roundhands. These hands are the workhorses of the certificate and diploma industry. They incorporate slants, curves, and angles, which give them an ornamental feel while remaining relatively quick to write. Participants will gain a solid foundation through the exploration of several historical models and accompanying assignments.

CLASS SUPPLIES

• Full set of broad-edge pens (either Mitchell, Brause, Hiro, Speedball, etc.)
• pen holder(s); multiple holders are recommended to accommodate various sized nibs
• ink (Higgins Eternal, Sumi Moon Palace, or your favorite broadedge pen ink)
• paper (your favorite workshop-grade paper; I suggest 9” x 12” marker layout paper such as Borden & Riley, Canson, or Beinfang), ruler, sharp pencil, and eraser.

OPTIONAL SUPPLIES

• Slant board; T-square or parallel ruler.
