ALL SKILL LEVELS | URBAN SKETCHING
Lines, Lattes & Landscapes invites you to slow down, observe with awe, and capture the character of everyday places through urban sketching. Working on location, we’ll explore simple, approachable techniques for drawing on the go – learning how to simplify complex scenes, working quickly and confidently, and designing expressive, and design expressive journal pages. We’ll use a small, travel-friendly kit – pencil, pen, a mini watercolor palette, and a sketchbook – proving that meaningful sketches can happen anywhere. This workshop encourages curiosity, play, and the freedom to make mistakes as part of the process.
CLASS SUPPLIES
- Sketchbook of your choice that accepts light wet media and a support such as a clipboard
- 2B pencil
- pencil sharpener
- Pentel Clic retractable eraser (round)
- kneaded eraser
- fineliner pens in size 01 and 03 (black or sepia)
- two colored pencils (yellow ochre and light blue)
- watercolor travel paintbox
- waterbrush or pointed round brushes in sizes 4 and 8
- small water container (collapsible or small jam jar type)
- bulldog clips or similar to hold sketchbook pages open
- small scissors
- glue stick
- paper towels
Note: We begin in the classroom and move to a cafe. Each participant may purchase one menu item of your choice, such as a beverage or pastry.
