• Flat Brushes - multiple sizes at least 8mm, 10mm, 12mm (or 1/2in). Some of the good brands: Winsor & Newton 995, Raphael Kaerell, Kum Memory Point. 
• Paints - Gouache or Poster colors (multiple colors, at minimum have Black)
• Paper - A3 or larger sheets of drawing or sketch paper
