Sachin Shah - Pencil Structures - Nov 21 & 28, 2026

Discover the art of letterforms using the simplest of tools in Pencil Structures. This workshop strips away the intimidation of traditional ink and nibs, focusing entirely on the creative potential of the humble pencil.

During this workshop, we will explore how to construct beautiful lettering using standard pencils. While we will touch upon the foundational elements of classical scripts as our structural base, this class is not about strict historical replication. Instead, we will use these examples as a springboard to help you build and design your own unique, expressive styles

Whether you are a complete beginner looking for an approachable entry into calligraphy or an experienced letterer wanting to explore new textures and tools, you will leave with a solid understanding of how to construct beautiful letters from the graphite up.
