Description

In this 3.5-hour workshop, you will be introduced to (or revisit) various techniques for mark making with rich, black sumi ink ink. We will create several sheets of textural marks and capture the best small marks clusters to place in a “sampler” book that you will make. We will explore various tools (both commercial and handmade) and visit some new areas of contemporary sumi art. A materials kit will be snail-mailed two weeks before class. No art experience required.
