This tiny crowquill nib is good for x-heights around 1/16". It is more sturdy than other small nibs and less flexible. Can be used to write on somewhat textured paper. Is smaller and less flexible than the Hunt 108, another crowquill.

Because of its tubular shaft, the Gillott 659 requires a special holder, Gillott Holder #51 (H75). - Made in England - tubular shaft - Blue-finish steel - Stamped on nib: Joseph Gillot's / Crow Quill / 659

    Pleasant sharp nib. Glides smoothly on smooth paper. Does catch on an upstroke if the paper has texture.
