Description

This workshop offers a whimsical approach to painting sweet watercolour birds in a charming initial setting that can be adapted to any season. Students of all skill levels will enhance their letter design capabilities as well as learn ways to add vibrancy and character to Sweetie Birds. You can choose to add a touch of gilding or coloured pencil as well as pointed pen embellishments to bring these designs to life. This workshop was created with a true sense of joy and delight in the process. You will want to revisit these designs in any season of the year and with any letter you choose. There is so much to explore in this special workshop.​

Supply List:

  • Pencil, Graph paper, Ruler, Eraser (PL21, PL38, P55, P56, E13) 

  • Pointed pen with Waterproof Ink such as McCaffery Black or Brown (N113, N72, N114, I37)

  • 140lb. Hot Press Watercolour paper cut to 5”x7” size (P134, PS110)

  • Your favourite watercolours and watercolour brushes. Blue, orange, green and brown are especially helpful in this workshop. (WNWC1, MH15, BR28, BR91)

  • Small Pointed Round Brushes. Heather uses Isabey 6229 sizes 0, 1 and 2. Small Princeton Velvetouch Spotter or Round Brushes are good synthetic alternative. (BR26, BR104)

  • Bleed Proof White for highlights (I38)

  • Optional Gilding Supplies: 23K Transfer Gold, with Miniatum Ink and Size 0 Extra Firm Clay shaper point (S189-5, S983)

  • Optional Coloured Pencils for Fine tuning the bird and letter design (PL05, PL28)
