This elegant holiday flourishing class draws inspiration from the beauty of Antique Lace Motifs. There are hidden clues in historic lace patterns that translate brilliantly to offhand flourishes using negative space, contrast, and the magic of repeated motifs. Throughout this workshop we will advance our flourishing skills while creating intricate holiday designs. This is an intermediate /advanced flourishing class and assumes the students know the basics offhand flourishing. A special focus of this class will be learning how to enhance whites on dark and soft coloured papers to create these luminous and lacy effects. Options for adding colours will be explored as well as gilding areas of the flourishes with 23K gold leaf.
This class will give you a library of designs to explore that will keep your holiday flourishing skills growing and improving for years to come. Celebrate the joy of the season with these delicate frosty lace motifs. The possibilities are endless!
