Class Overview - All Skill Levels

Tap into the power of sketching! Sketching is not only a handy tool to have in your creative repertoire, but it also can be a beautiful art form itself. We will focus on pen, ink, and watercolor techniques to create both quick and finished pen & ink drawings. Learn how different strokes create shapes, textures, and values and how to use watercolor to enhance your sketch. For a fun and immersive experience, learn how to use sketching to bring your artistic visions to life.

CLASS SUPPLIES
• Mechanical Pencil .05 mm (PL21)
• HB and 4B pencil (PL38, PL2020)
• Pencil sharpener (PL13)
• Eraser (plastic or kneaded) (E13, E36)
• Several fine line markers, such as Sakura Pigma Micron pen 01, 03, and 05 in black (M17, M17-S3)
• Any white gel pen such as Sakura White Gelly Roll pen size 10, or Dr. Martin’s Bleedproof White (M157, M61, I38)
• One colored pencil, blue or any favorite color (PL05, PL28, PL32, PL76)
• A simple watercolor set, including Burnt Sienna and Ultramarine Blue (S609)
• A mixing palette (or you can use the inside lid of your watercolor paintbox) (S679)
• A pointed round watercolor brush size 4 (BR104, BR26)
• Brush to be used as a mixing brush (BR43)
• Small water container (to clean brushes while you paint) (S1005)
• Paper towels
• 12” ruler (S270)
• Strathmore Series 400 drawing paper pad (regular or recycled) in 8”x 10” size or 9”x 12” size. (P100)
• 2 pieces of 140lb. Arches or Fabriano Artistico hot press paper cut to 7”x 9” (PS47, PS115)
• 1 sheet of tracing paper (P43)
