Welcome to the world of Rennie Mackintosh! Charles Rennie Mackintosh (1868-1928) was a well-known Scottish architect and artist who was a key figure of the Art Nouveau design movement. Now Kathy has re-imagined his famous architectural alphabet and famous rose and designed a special class that's sure to inspire you! On Day 1, you’ll learn the distinctive monoline alphabet designed by Rennie, influenced by his architectural writing with its curvilinear lines and elegant simplicity. You’ll explore alternate letters, words and phrases that fit your style perfectly! Then you’ll play with fun lists, names, and create your own envelope art that will make even a postal worker jealous! On Day 2, you’ll become your own designer! You’ll learn about the classic art nouveau palette and experiment with color. Then you’ll learn the famous Rennie rose, a simple bird and tree design, and the beautiful rose wreath, all of which Kathy created especially for this class! You can also add an uplifting phrase or quote of your choice to create a beautiful card or gift!
