Description

Would you like to take your copperplate calligraphy to the next level and make it more beautiful? Here's your chance! If you have already learned the basics of traditional copperplate, now you have a chance to refine it, improve it, and change it up! Here we will develop this classic script style further and study some of the many variations of it. You will also learn how to analyze ANY script variation you see (either hand lettering or computer font) so that you understand how it was created and what makes it unique, which is the first step to being able to mimic it yourself. Finally, you will begin to explore how to take a script style and modify it to your own taste to make it uniquely yours. NOTE: This class concentrates on the more formal/traditional variations of copperplate. Modern calligraphy and flourishing are each offered as separate classes from this instructor. PREREQUISITE: Any comprehensive class in copperplate (or the equivalent in independent studies).
